“WE’RE JUST TRYING TO PUSH MORE DICTIONARIES, SALES ARE DOWN, AND THIS IS WHAT THE KIDS RELATE TO”
Said one of the writers for the 2016 version of Webster’s online dictionary.
Webster’s Dictionary replaced the letter ‘L’ with a picture of rapper Meek Mill to help push more copies as most aren’t selling due to online competition from the likes of Wikipedia.
“SALES WERE DOWN 60% OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS AND WE THOUGHT IT WAS TIME TO GIVE UP, BUT THEN WE HEARD A RAPPER GOT DISSED BY A LIGHT SKIN SINGING N*GGA. PLUS HE CAN’T LEAVE HIS OWN HOME WITHOUT BEING ARRESTED. THAT’S THE DEFINITION OF AN ‘L’.” – HEAD OF MARKETING WEBSTER
Webster plans to release the new version of the Dictionary next month and doesn’t plan on ever giving up, because they say if Meek still trying. “Why can’t we?”
